The studio

We build lamps the way we'd want to live with them — slowly, and only when they're right.

eastudio started in a workshop in Nairobi, with a single question: why does good lighting have to be imported? We work with local materials, local makers, and a strict rule that we'd rather release one lamp a year than a line we don't believe in.

The Silo is the first. It's built one at a time, tuned to throw warm light the way an old reading lamp does — low, honest, and easy on the eyes. Every piece is numbered and signed.

The usual.

Is the bulb included?

Yes — one warm 2700K dimmable LED ships with each lamp. If you ever need to replace it, any standard E27 bulb will fit.

How long until I get it?

Each lamp is hand-finished, so we keep a small batch in stock. If one is ready, it goes out within 24 hours. If it's made-to-order, allow 7–10 days — we'll tell you up front when you order.

What does the light actually look like?

Warm and easy on the eye — closer to candlelight than office light. Good for living rooms, bedrooms, and reading corners. The dimmer takes it down to a soft glow for evenings.

Why M-Pesa only?

It's the lowest-friction way for both of us. If you'd prefer bank transfer or card, say so on WhatsApp and we'll sort it out.

Where do you deliver?

Nairobi same-day where possible — usually free within town. Countrywide via courier (G4S, Fargo, or Pickup Mtaani), typically 1–3 days. Courier cost depends on the town; we'll confirm the exact amount on WhatsApp before you pay.

Do you take returns?

Yes. If the lamp arrives damaged or isn't what you expected, you have 7 days to return it for a full refund. We cover return shipping for damage.

Is there a warranty?

12 months on the lamp body and wiring. Bulbs are replaceable (standard E27) so they're not covered.

Can I see it in person before buying?

Yes — DM us on Instagram to arrange a viewing in Nairobi. We also have a pickup point at Travis Business Center, Mfangano Street, Nairobi.

Do you do custom orders?

Sometimes. Tell us what you have in mind on WhatsApp and we'll say yes or no honestly.
